Eligibility requirements for IMI LVI Accreditation

IMI Light Vehice Inspection Accreditation for technicians / mechanics who have experience and wish to be recognised professionally

Who is it for?

The IMI Accreditation Light Vehicle Inspection route is intended for technicians whose job role involves the inspection, maintenance and repair of light vehicles.  If you work in a garage, workshop or are a mobile mechanic this accreditation may be just right for you

Pre-requisites

Inspection Technicians must be able to work unsupervised – ideally, they should be in full time employment with at least 3 years experience to ensure they are familiar with the techniques for vehicle servicing, inspection and system(s) diagnosis.

  3. Braking Systems Inspection
  4. Steering & Suspension System Inspection
  5. Vehicle Appraisal Inspection
  6. Vehicle Structure Inspection (Online test)
